Deputy Chair of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition

Lynne Latten

My career in Paediatric critical care started in 1999 after qualifying as a dietitian in 1998 and I have now worked solely in this area for the last 14 years as a clinical specialist Paediatric dietitian in Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Liverpool, UK.  During my time in this post I have developed a wide knowledge of nutrition support in many specialist areas of PICU and actively promote the importance of nutrition widely within the multidisciplinary teams.  I regularly teach dietitians on critical care nutrition and complex nutrition support within an MSc in Advanced Paediatric Dietetics academically hosted by the University of Plymouth and collaboration with the British Dietetic Association.  I also participate in a Critical Care Advanced Nurse Practioner education programme.

Along with other members of the MEN section we are currently working to produce consensus guidelines on nutrition in critical care which I would hope to drive forward further research in this area.
