Dr Javier Urbano, Attending Physician at PICU in Gregorio Marañon General University Hospital, Madrid, Spain.
An attending physician at the pediatric intensive care unit in Gregorio Marañón University Hospital for the last 12 years; finished a PhD degree in 2014 with a project focused on an experimental model of haemorrhagic shock; currently finishing two research projects with private and public funds, related to hemodynamic monitoring and haemorrhagic shock treatment in this year.
A current member of Cardiovascular Dynamics section, with good relationship with the former and current chairs of the section, working together as a member of the steering committee in charge of developing a European consensus of hemodynamic monitoring in neonatal and pediatric intensive care. Enthusiastic about learning, teaching, research, and team building, as Lecturer in the Department of Public and Mother-child Health, Complutense University, Madrid. Spain, since 2018; and residents tutor in charge of training pediatric residents since 2017. Excellent relationships with PICU doctors in Spain, Europe, and in Latin America.
Excited about becoming more involved in the tasks of the section and the ESPNIC, supporting and learning from the current chair.
