Online Courses
Registrations are open now for 4 new ESPNIC online courses starting 15 May 2021. Courses include: Mechanical Ventilation, Evidence-Based Practice, Nursing in Critical Care, and Nutrition in Critical Care.
All courses start on 15 May 2021 and will be open for 3-4 months depending on the course.
Mechanical Ventilation Course
Audience: Medical and nursing professionals

The course is self-paced and can be accessed for a duration of 4 months from 15 May 2021 until 15 September 2021. After 4 months, the course will no longer be available so please aim to complete the course within the 4-month access period. The course concludes with an assessment that can be taken at any time during the access period. A passing mark of 70% is required to receive a certificate of successful completion of the course.
Time required to complete course: Approximately 100 hours
Prices: EUR 100 for ESPNIC members | EUR 180 for non-members
Evidence-Based Practice Course
Audience: PICU and NICU healthcare professionals
Course description: The ESPNIC Evidence Based Practice course has been coordinated by Lyvonne Tume on behalf of and with the Nurse Science section but is highly relevant to all PICU and NICU healthcare professionals. It focuses on reading and understanding different types of research papers, applying the evidence into practice (implementation) and how to turn your clinical problem into a research question.

After 15 August 2021, the course will no longer be available so please aim to complete the course within the 3-month access period. The course concludes with an assessment that can be taken at any time during the access period. A passing mark of 75% is required to receive a certificate of successful completion of the course.

Nursing in Critical Care Course
Audience: Nursing professionals
Course description: The ESPNIC online nursing courses focuses on important clinical issues of interest and relevance to nurses. Expert researchers and nurses share the most up to date evidence and discussion around these issues and topics.

Nutrition in Critical Care Course
Audience: All members of the PICU multi-disciplinary team
Course description: The Nutrition in Critical Care course includes 10 sessions delivered by experienced ESPNIC Nutrition Section members. The course is aimed at all members of the PICU multi-disciplinary team and based around the ESPNIC consensus nutrition guidelines.
