Deputy Chair of Neuro Critical Care
Dr Karl Reiter is consultant in paediatric intensive care at University Children´s Hospital, Dr von Haunersches Kinderspital, LMU Munich, Germany.
His keen interest in neurointensive care is clinically based and stems from the many unknowns concerning CNS injury we are confronted with in nearly every PICU patient. Special interests as a clinician-scientist include 1) metabolic causes of cerebral edema; 2) cerebral vascular diseases; 3) multimodal neuromonitoring; and 4) neuromuscular diseases. He is a founding member of the Paediatric Stroke Unit at his hospital and engaged in clinical research in paediatric stroke patients.
